During Your Session

Your massage session will take place in a private room on a comfortable heated table. After we discuss your needs and concerns, I will take some time to listen to your body, gently placing my hands to feel for the rhythms of fluid in the body and discover areas of tension and holding.

Every massage is unique. Depending on the type of session you choose and your specific needs, your massage may include a wide range of massage techniques and other healing modalities. You can read more about all of these modalities in my FAQ.

No matter what techniques I use, I will never cause you pain. My approach is slow and specific, allowing tension to simply melt away.

Emotional Responses to Massage

Your body is a container for everything you’ve experienced in your life. Sometimes massage creates an emotional response. It’s not uncommon for my clients to feel waves of emotion or even cry. Sometimes old memories arise.

Please be assured that your body will only release what it’s ready to release. I will never force this process or push you past your comfort level. My goal is to create a safe space where healing can occur at the pace that’s right for you.

After an emotional release, clients almost always experience a sense of relief and renewed energy. When emotional pain is released, just like with physical pain, the body is able to relax into a more balanced and whole state of being.

After Your Session

Most clients report a change in consciousness after a massage with me. You may feel deeply calm or dreamy. One client asked, “What did you do to me? I feel like you didn’t just massage my body. You healed me from my soul!”

I encourage you to take it easy after a session and drink lots of water to help cleanse and soothe your body. After a particularly intense session, some clients experience headaches or emotional sensitivity, but this should pass after a good night’s sleep.
